The Leadership-in-Training program helps future young leaders develop and showcase their leadership skills. This program allows participants to step in the shoes of a Program Coordinator and show their skills to be a role model while building confidence and also have a great time.
The Georgetown Youth Community Center believes that the youth of Georgetown are the leaders of the future. LITs will work closely with Program Coordinators in a structured setting to learn and help facilitate activities, lead small group games and learn the five main Social Emotional Learning skills to help understand age appropriate communication skills. This program will be strongly supported to help develop more positive development assets within the Georgetown Community.
LITs will also earn volunteer hours while gaining quality and effective leadership training. At the GYCC, we encourage inclusiveness so LITs can participate in games and activities throughout the day. Perfect for hands-on training.
To gain the most out of this program, LiTs should commit to at least 3/4 weeks out of the 7 weekly offerings.
This program is available to anyone 14 years or older. Spaces are limited. For questions or more information, please email Coach Avre at gyccyouthcouncil@gmail.
